How To Use Music For Stress & Pain Relief

Updated: Oct 15

THE BACKGROUND:

Several weeks ago I posted a Facebook live video sharing how you can use music for PAIN, ANXIETY, and STRESS RELIEF.

I decided to make the video after getting so many positive responses from presentations and groups I recently led. I was SO surprised when the video received 1.7K views! I was excited to know that so many more people could use music to help them get through the day with less pain, anxiety, or stress.

Music has been scientifically proven to:

  • reduce blood pressure

  • lower heart rate

  • reduce respiratory rate

  • reduce or eliminate pain for a period of time

  • improve immune system functioning

  • increase the antibody immunoglobulin A and natural killer cells which fight off viruses

LISTEN AND RELAX:

I began to think how could I make this even easier for people to access? So, the simple answer was to make an Mp3 recording that included a Music Assisted Progressive Muscle Relaxation script along with relaxing music! This is almost exactly the process I use when working with my clients in music therapy.

So, HERE IT IS!
